DoD OIG — Navy Did Not Develop Processes in the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning System to Account for Military Equipment Assets

Navy Did Not Develop Processes in the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning System to Account for Military Equipment Assets (PDF)
Source: U.S. Department of Defense, Office of Inspector General

We are providing this report for your review and comment. Department of Navy Office of Financial Operations personnel did not use the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning system to support $416 billion in military equipment assets reported out of the Defense Departmental Reporting System-Audited Financial Statements. As a result, Navy officials spent $870 million to implement the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning system and still did not correct the preexisting military equipment material weakness. We considered management comments on a draft of this report when preparing the final report.
