Fashionista Recommends – Huntsville Wear

Fashionista Recommends….

Attending MLW 2013 in Huntsville? Thinking about what to pack?

To help you decide what to bring, here is a direct quote from RISC Staff, “Huntsville is in the South, but not South Beach.” (Attributed to Gloria Miller)

Well, from the West Coast come some interesting suggestions. “Bring your pashminas; those Workshop rooms can be chilly!” Another comment: “I’m bringing my 60th Anniversary tiara! And of course adding a holiday pin! So 2013!!”

Folks in Huntsville say “layers work best.” You’ll want to go outside in the evenings….Huntsville really puts on a great Tinsel Tree show in the Von Braun Center, Big Park Area.

The Welcome Reception and Sponsor Appreciation in the Info/Expo area is scheduled from 6-8 pm Monday evening, Have some favorite holiday socks, a tie that plays “Jingle Bells” or a great holiday sweater, and don’t forget head gear — wear to the Reception and thank our great sponsors. Holiday hats are good, too! Who doesn’t have a “Santa Hat?” Look for the person with the military-oriented Santa Hat…..if you can notice him. This will take place in the South Hall, Ballrooms 2 & 3.

Are you a First Time Attendee? The Workshop hosts invite you to a special ” Meet and Greet” briefing with the Military Libraries Division Board Members. Learn about how to get the most out of your experience. This will be Monday, 4:30-5:30 pm in the Embassy Suites Bar area. Casual “Holiday wear” is suggested.

The 60th Anniversary Dinner at the US Space and Rocket Center on Tuesday evening, while not REALLY formal (ball gowns and Tuxes – optional) can be a little bit dressy. Diamonds are preferred! Bling, bling!

 See you soon in Huntsville!

"Balance for Oil, Imbalance for LNG?" (recorded webcast) Center for Strategic & International Studies

https://www.csis.org/events/balance-oil-imbalance-lng

"The CSIS Energy and National Security Program is pleased to host Fereidun Fesharaki, Founder and Chairman of FGE, for a presentation and discussion on the current state of global oil and gas markets, one balancing as the other appears to tip toward imbalance.

Oil markets are struggling to reach a balance, and with robust demand growth and continued OPEC cutbacks, a balance might be reached in the 2017/2018 period. LNG markets are facing a prolonged period of imbalance, perhaps through about 2023, before a balance can be reached. While many advocate new U.S. LNG projects, around 50% of the projects currently under construction have still not been sold to end users.

Dr. Fesharaki's work is recognized worldwide for pioneering oil and gas market analysis since the early 1980s. Born in Iran, he received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Surrey in England. He then completed a visiting fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. He joined the East West Center in 1979, where he led the Energy program for two decades. FGE offices are spread around the world in 8 locations with heavy emphasis on Asia and the Middle East.
