You are a SPECIAL Librarian! You are a Military Librarian!

“Size Matters–Sometimes Bigger is not Better” by Pat Alderman

If you have ever been to a huge conference like ALA Annual, it is easy to get lost in the crowds: general sessions, exhibit halls, and popular sessions. Although SLA is smaller and more manageable, imagine a conference or workshop where you can actually meet everyone:

– the other attendees,

– the conference planners and DMIL (Military Libraries Division) board members,

– vendors, and

– potential new friends and/or contacts from library school volunteers to seasoned professionals to still-involved retirees.

The Military Libraries Training Workshop may be just right–3 days of on-target programming, 2 -1/2 days of personal time with vendors, fantastic speakers, local dine-arounds AND below-per diem hotel rates.
