DOD Social Media Guidelines

Is your library involved in Social Media–Facebook, Blogs, RSS feeds, Marshups?  Is it something you are considering, but are being held up because you don't know which rules apply to you?

DOD has compiled a webpage with its Social Media Guidelines.  Check out the site:  http://socialmedia.defense.gov/education-and-training/

Take the training.  Learn about PII (Personally Idenitfiable Information).  What are the threats for Geotagging?  (Geotagging–process of adding geographical identification metadata to various media such as photographs, video, websites, SMS messages, or RSS feeds and is a form of geospatial metadata. These data usually consist of latitude and longitude coordinates, though they can also include altitude, bearing, distance, accuracy data, and place names. It is commonly used for photographs, giving geotagged photographs.)
